Reveal

M2M SIMs are different to dongles, which usually supply mobile broadband data connectivity. M2M SIMs are specifically designed for M2M applications and are more robust physically and electronically. BT’s SIMs are also attached to our M2M platform that enables customers to control and manage all their devices from a single web-portal. The platform also includes powerful features, such as diagnostics and automation rules, so customers can increase the reliability and lower the costs of M2M.

How much margin will I make on M2M?

Reveal

Margins are very attractive on M2M and will depend on the size and type of opportunity that is available. Some opportunities are very large in volume, but due to the small amount of data used may be small in value, such as smart metering. Others may be low in volume, but high in value, such as wifi in public transport HD CCTV. The specific solution and business model that is adopted will dictate the margin possible.
